歯の欠損に対する補綴治療の前後において、咀嚼機能の主観的・客観的評価、および心理テスト等による社会心理学的評価を行った。その結果、咀嚼機能の客観および主観評価データは著明に向上し、両者には関連が認められた。しかし、関連が認められない被験者も散見された。以上より、咀嚼機能を指標として欠損補綴治療の治療効果を判定する際には、本研究のような、咀嚼機能の多軸的評価による治療効果判定が必要であることが示唆された。
