1)高校生・大学生の父親役割認識および影響を与える社会的・心理的要因、家族との関係などに関して、平成19年度に質問紙調査を実施した結果、父親の多面的な役割を認識していること、この認識には、発達の知識や関係スキル、親子関係、男女平等観などが影響していることが示されている。平成20年度は、アメリカで開催された国際学会で発表し、意見交換をしたが、今年度は、アジアで開催された国際学会で発表し、日本の父親をめぐる課題をより明確化した。2)アメリカのミネソタ州で開発され、実績のある「Dad make a difference」(父親教育プログラム)の理論と実践の調査・分析を基に、I発達の知識IIケアのスキルIII日本の親子関係の特徴(法律を含む)という枠組みを平成20年度に設定し、今年度は、父親役割を学ぶプログラムの詳細を作成した。3)2)で開発したプログラムを実施するための研修プログラムを考案し、高校の家庭科の教師3名と大学の教員2名を対象に、実施した。事前事後の質問紙調査から、親になるための教育の重要性に関する認識が高まること、保育教育に関しての捉え直しがはかられたことが明らかになった。3)3)の研修を修了した高校の家庭科教師3名が東京都・千葉県の公立高校において、また、大学の教員2名が、千葉県・北海道の国立大学教育学部において、開発した父親プログラムを実施した。生徒たちに対しての事前事後の質問紙調査の結果、父親役割に対して、特に子どものケアに関わる役割を重要視するようになったこと、子育てにおける男女の協力の重要性への認識が高まったこと、幼児との関係性スキルへの有能感を高めたことが示された。以上の成果から、本研究の意義が明確になった。
