本研究では,内集団アイデンティティ(以下,内集団ID)を題材とする社会的カテゴリーの相対的有意味性モデルを提案し,検証することを目的とする。今年度の主な成果は次の2点である。まず,これまでに行った一連の研究(e.g., Nakashima,Isobe, & Ura, 2008;中島・礒部・長谷川・浦,印刷中,中島・礒部・相馬・浦,2008)を基に,社会的カテゴリーの相対的有意味性モデルに関する博士論文を執筆した。具体的には,前年度に実施した集団実験(中島他,2008)に関する諸研究に基づき社会的カテゴリーの相対的有意味性モデルの妥当性を,そしてNakashima et al. (2008)や中島他(印刷中),そして中島・礒部・浦(2006)等に基づき,その拡張可能性を考察した。その結果,社会的カテゴリーの相対的有意味性は内集団の社会的価値が高い場合,あるいは相互独立的自己観を有する個人が自尊心脅威状況におかれた場合に高まることが明らかになった。次に,準実験的手法ならびに調査的手法を用いた4つの研究を実施し,社会的カテゴリーの相対的有意味性モデルの汎用性に関する示唆を得た。これについては,2009年の日本社会心理学会第50回大会・日本グループ・ダイナミックス学会第56回大会合同学会(於;大阪)やthe Society for Personality and Social Psychology(於;Las Vegas)において発表された(e.g., Nakashima, Yanagisawa, & Ura, 2010;中島・礒部・浦,2009)。なお,中島他(2008)や中島他(2006)に関しては,近年の知見(e.g., Gaertner, Iuzzini, Witt, & Orina, 2006; Reinhard, Stahlberg, & Messner, 2009)をレビューし,データの分析方法の妥当性を吟味した上で学会誌に投稿中である。
