项目摘要

本研究の目的は、十九世紀のフランス演劇を中心に、劇作品のなかの障害者像の特徴を明らかにすることであるが、研究対象となる劇作品のほとんどは今日では忘れ去られた存在となっている。そのため、平成22年度においても、障害者が登場人物として出て来る作品、およびその関連資料の収集、調査うい継続して行った。そのうえで、これまでの研究で手を付けることができなかったいくつかの個別のテーマに取り組んだ。具体的には次の通りである。(1)1820年度以降、ヴォードヴィルやメロドラマといったジャンルの作品に頻繁に登場するようになる傷痍軍人(invalide)のもつ象徴性、および作品のもつ愛国的な意味合いについての考察。(2)1830年代に上演されたガスパール・ハウザーをテーマにした作品群についての考察、および1800年から1810年代にかけて盛んに用いられた聾唖の少年のモチーフとの比較。(3)1874年に上演されたメロドラマ『ふたりの孤児(Les Deux Orphelines)』と、その映画化作品であるD・W・グリフィス『嵐の孤児(Orphans of The storm)』との比較。演劇作品と映画作品における登場人物の障害の演出方法の相違について。(4)障害者を装う登場人物についての考察。障害を偽ることの意味。これらの研究を進めることにより、十九世紀のフランス演劇における劇中の障害者像について、より多面的に迫ることができたものと思われる。
