项目摘要

1.研究者(以後「私」とする)はまず,日常生活世界における自殺現象の統制・合理化活動の根幹をなす動機付与活動を,エスノメソドロジーにおける「カテゴリー分析」を参照に再検討した.その結果として当該活動が「再帰性」「文脈依存性」を特徴とする再現性のない「個性的な」活動であること,そしてその活動において「因果的説明」と「責任帰属」は相互補完的な関係にあり,分析上両者は不可分であることを確認した.2.次に私は近年自殺現象の統制・合理化活動に大きな影響を与えていると考えられる,自殺とその予防をめぐる精神医学的知識を「医療化」の観点から検討した.その際,当該年度においてはさしあたり,自殺対策のために公的機関が公表・発行している印刷物およびウェブ上での情報を検討の対象とした.その結果として,それらは「自殺対策の医療化」を象徴する印刷物・情報であること,そして自殺をめぐる責任帰属をより明確にし,それをめぐる争いを不可避なものとさせうる潜勢力を有している--誰が,いかような過失・不作為を犯したかを詳らかにする「マニュアル」としてはたらく--ことが明らかとなった.3.さらに私は,うつ病患者家族2名へのインタビュー調査も実施した.いずれの対象者も自殺とその危険因子であるとされるうつ病にかんする知識を欠いていた.当該知識の欠如は,自殺予防のためのうつ病患者の「見守り」にかんする負担をめぐる争いにおいて,当該知識を少しでも有する--精神保健専門職からみて「適切」か否かはともかく--者の状況定義や利害が優先される結果を招来していた.
