项目摘要

本研究の目的は、戦前日本の「教員ネットワーク」の解明を通して、帝国日本を植民地と本国の両面から検討し、日本の教育がどのようにアジアと向き合ったのか考察することである。そして以下の三つの課題を設定した。第一に、中等教員を通して、植民地と本国との関係を分析することである。第二に、膠州湾租借地が中華民国に還付された後、現地人学校がどのように中華民国側に回収されたのか、ということである。第三に、植民地当局と教員との関係に注貝して、教員人事が具体的にどのようになされたのか、ということである。これらの課題意識はいずれもこれまでの研究状況では重視されてこなかった視点であり、「教員」という存在を通して、帝国日本の植民地一本国関係がいかなるものであったのか論じることは大きな意義があると考えられる。そして研究対象を第一次世界大戦期に日本軍が占領し、1922年に中華民国に還付した膠州湾租借地(青島)に絞り、この地域における教員人事を現地人教育は1918年から1927年という還付前後を中心とし、日本人教育は1918年から1938年にかけて研究した。第一の課題について、本年度は広島高等師範学校を中心として解明を試みた。広島高等師範学校と青島の中等教員における教員人事を具体的に展開したのが論文「帝国日本内を移動する教員」である。第二の課題について、論文執筆および学会発表を通じて以下のような見通しを得ることができた。まず、青島市档案館の史料を用いて前年度に発表した論文「山東省膠澳商埠における壬戌学制の定着過程」では、膠州湾租借地が北京政府に接収された際、日本統治時代に設立された中国人小学校が公立小学校に改組されて壬戌学制が適用される一方で、日本統治時代の学制が残っていたことを明らかにした。さらに引き続き同档案館史料を用いて中華民国側の教員人事を考察したのが発表報告「北京政府期膠澳商埠の公立学校一日本統治下膠州湾租借地との連続性を中心に一」である。現地人教員の中には還付後もそのまま採用となった教員がおり、還付前後の連続性が明らかとなった。第三の課題として、中等教員と初等教員の人事異動を分析した。第一の点について1930年代の居留民団立中等学校を事例として、教員人事の具体層を明らかにしたのが発表報告「山東省膠州湾租借地還付後の日本人学校に関する一考察-青島居留民団と教員人事の関係を中心に-」である。教員人事に現地の日本人学校長が関与したことを明らかにした。第二の点について、日本統治時代を中心に青島守備軍による初等教員の採用を日本人教員と現地人教員に分類した上で両者の人事構造を分析したのが論文「日本統治時代の青島における初等教員人事の構造に関する一考察」である。
