本研究では、育児休業制度やマクロの景気要因が女性の結婚の意思決定に及ぼす影響について分析することを目的している。本研究の意義は、出生行動に大きな影響を及ぼすが、あまり研究例のない結婚について分析し、その意思決定の構造をより明らかにしようとする点にある。本年度は昨年度までの研究成果をもとに実証分析を行った。分析に使用したデータは1993年から2005年までの財団法人家計経済研究所の「消費生活に関するパネル調査」である。分析の結果、以下の3点が明らかになった。1点目は、サバイバル分析および変量効果プロビットモデルの推計の結果、育児休業制度が勤務先の企業にあり、かつ、利用資格がある未婚女性ほど結婚時期が早まることがわかった。育児休業制度は結婚を促進している可能性がある。本研究と同じデータを使用した滋野・大日(1998)では育児休業制度が結婚に影響を及ぼさないと言った結論を得ているが、この背景には(1)滋野・大日(1998)ではデータの使用期間が短く、十分な新婚サンプルが得られていなかった、(2)分析に使用した期間だと育児休業法が施行されて間もない時期であり、制度が普及しておらず十分な効果を持っていなかった、といった2つの理由があるのではないかと考えられる。2点目は、結婚意欲をコントロールした結果、育児休業制度の結婚に対する影響が低下することがわかった。この結果から、結婚意欲は育児休業制度が結婚に及ぼす影響を過大に推計させていると考えられる。おそらく、これには結婚に対する意欲が高い女性ほど、結婚や出産後のことも考慮し、育児休業制度などの就業支援策が豊富な企業を選択し、就業しているといった背景があるためではないかと考えられる。3点目は、年齢階級別失業率や学卒時失業率などでマクロの景気変動の影響を見たが、結婚の意思決定に影響を及ぼしていないことがわかった。

This study aims to analyze the factors affecting women's rational decision-making in marriage.
