Making use of the literary and historical resources that this research project has given me access to, I analyzed the characteristics of Charles Dickens's imagination using the analogy between it and stenography which he taught himself before he became a successful novelist. In the course of this research, I wrote several essays on Dickens's novels or on Dickens the novelist. Some of them were published on academic journals(I read one of them at a conference). My findings through this project about the cultural background of Dickens's writings helped me to finish translating one of his short pieces. I believe I have managed to make a unique contribution to the Dickensian and Victorian studies.

利用本研究项目提供的文学和历史资源，我分析了查尔斯狄更斯的想象力的特点，用他成为一个成功的小说家之前自学的速记法进行类比。在研究过程中，我写了几篇关于狄更斯小说或小说家狄更斯的文章。其中一些发表在学术期刊上（我在一次会议上读到了其中一篇）。通过这个项目，我对狄更斯作品的文化背景的研究帮助我完成了他的一篇短篇小说的翻译。我相信我已经设法为狄更斯和维多利亚时代的研究做出了独特的贡献。
