One of the factors which determine how effectively languages are learned is language anxiety. However, research so far has focused on either its positive or negative effects. In an attempt at a synthesis of the two views, this paper will not focus on language anxiety per se, but rather on how it is interpreted. Therefore, in order to cast one of the causes of language anxiety, namely failure, in a positive manner, the strategy of learning from failure was taught, and its effect tested.

语言焦虑是决定语言学习效果的因素之一。然而，迄今为止的研究主要集中在其积极或消极影响上。为了综合这两种观点，本文将不关注语言焦虑本身，而是关注它是如何被解释的。因此，为了从积极的角度看待语言焦虑的原因之一，即失败，我们教授了从失败中学习的策略，并对其效果进行了测试。
