This project researched on the relationship between industrialization, urbanization and infant mortality, as an index of standards of living, on the context of household economy in the process of modernization of Japan. Especially, much attention will be paid to how the living environment around infant babies and their mothers dwelling both in cities and rural areas affect their standards of living measured as anthropometric indexes such as height, weight and BMI beside the level of infant mortality.

本项目以日本现代化进程中的家庭经济为背景，研究工业化、城市化与作为生活水平指标的婴儿死亡率之间的关系。特别是，除了婴儿死亡率水平外，还将非常关注居住在城市和农村地区的婴儿及其母亲周围的生活环境如何影响他们的生活水平，这些生活水平是以身高、体重和体重指数等人体测量指标衡量的。
