Infant mortality and maternity in the age of industrialization and urbanization

本课题以日本现代化进程中的家庭经济为背景，研究工业化、城市化与婴儿死亡率之间的关系，作为衡量生活水平的一个指标。特别是关注居住在城市和农村的婴儿及其母亲周围的生活环境对他们的生活水平的影响，这些指标除了婴儿死亡率外，还包括身高、体重和BMI等人体测量指标。

This project researched on the relationship between industrialization, urbanization and infant mortality, as an index of standards of living, on the context of household economy in the process of modernization of Japan. Especially, much attention will be paid to how the living environment around infant babies and their mothers dwelling both in cities and rural areas affect their standards of living measured as anthropometric indexes such as height, weight and BMI beside the level of infant mortality.
