The purpose this study is to review of the theory of bookkeeping in Japan, where it has not changed significantly since the double-entry bookkeeping was imported from the UK and the USA early in the Meiji era. More specifically, according to the introductory accounting textbooks in the UK, USA and Japan, we examined the accounting cycle in detail, especially some issues on closing entries and accounting system. Moreover, we pointed out that it is important to emphasize not only the preparation of financial statements, but the continuous accounting control. We reported the result of this study in the annual meeting of Japan Accounting Association (9^<th> October 2010), and published 3 papers.

本研究的目的是回顾日本的簿记理论，自明治时代早期从英国和美国引进复式簿记以来，日本的簿记理论没有发生重大变化。具体而言，根据英国、美国和日本的入门会计教科书，我们详细研究了会计循环，特别是结账分录和会计制度的一些问题。此外，我们指出，重要的是不仅要强调财务报表的编制，而且要强调持续的会计控制。我们在日本会计协会年会（2010年10月9日）上报告了本研究结果<th>，并发表了3篇论文。
