Association between maternal lifestyle during pregnancy and childhood growth and development

最近，有人提出，母亲在怀孕期间吸烟可能对儿童肥胖有影响。此外，还提出了这种影响的性别差异的可能性。然而，没有研究检验性别差异。因此，我们利用日本胎儿期的前瞻性队列研究数据进行了一些分析，以澄清性别差异。结果表明，孕妇孕期吸烟与儿童肥胖的关系存在性别差异。

Recently, it has been suggested that there would be effect of maternal smoking during pregnancy on childhood obesity. Moreover, the possibility of gender difference of this effect has been also suggested. However, there was no study to examine the gender difference. Therefore, we conducted some analyses to clarify the gender difference by using the data of prospective cohort study from fetal period in Japan. As a result, it was clarified that there was gender difference of the association between maternal smoking during pregnancy and childhood obesity.
