Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is characterized by repeated episodes of partial and/or complete airway obstruction during sleep. Recent several clinical studies have indicated that patients with SDB are at increased risk for cardiovascular diseases. But few studies have been described epidemiological study in Japanese. Therefore, we conducted a cohort study to evaluate the progress of cardiovascular atherosclerosis and an effect of the severity of SDB and highly high-sensitive CRP among Japanese.In conclusion, the undiagnosed or untreated SDB suggest the cause for the progress of cardiovascular atherosclerosis among Japanese.

睡眠呼吸障碍（SDB）的特征是在睡眠期间反复发作的部分和/或完全气道阻塞。最近的几项临床研究表明，SDB患者患心血管疾病的风险增加。但在日本国内的流行病学研究却鲜有报道。因此，我们进行了一项队列研究，以评估心血管动脉粥样硬化的进展和SDB的严重程度和高度高敏CRP在日本人中的影响。总之，未诊断或未经治疗的SDB表明日本人心血管动脉粥样硬化进展的原因。
