Total analysis of Pax family genes in oral carcinoma.

本研究通过实时定量逆转录聚合酶链式反应检测口腔鳞状细胞癌(OSCC)细胞系中PAX基因的表达情况，探讨PAX基因在口腔鳞状细胞癌(OSCC)中的作用。与人类正常口腔角质形成细胞(HNOK)相比，所有口腔鳞癌来源的细胞系中PAX5的表达均显著增加。结果提示，PAX5基因在口腔鳞癌的发生发展过程中起重要作用，有可能成为口腔鳞癌的生物标志物和治疗靶点。

In the current study, to determine the potential involvement of PAX genes in oral squamous-cell carcinoma (OSCC), we evaluated the status of PAX genes mRNA expression in OSCC cell lines, by real-time quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. A significant increase in PAX5 expression was observed in all OSCC-derived cell lines examined compared to human normal oral keratinocytes (HNOKs). The results suggest that PAX5 plays an important role during oral carcinogenesis, and that the gene may have potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target for OSCC.
