Construction of a functional model of language based on the analysis of the argument structure of the Finnish language and the Circum-Baltic languages

(1)As to the promotion and the demotion of syntactic arguments of the Finnish language, a more persuasive analysis has been obtained by introducing an areal-linguistic perspective contrasting them with those of the Circum-Baltic languages.(2)(2)A theoretical base for arguing about argument structures of verbal predicates has been established by organizing a series of seminars on this subject.
