本研究の目的は、フィンランド語の統語論的研究およびウラル諸語の統語論的な比較研究に向けてウラル諸語の言語コーパスを構築することにあるが、ウラル諸語と一口に言っても多様な言語が含まれ、電子化に当たって解決しなければならない問題も一様ではないため、今年度も、前年度に引き続き、フィンランド語・エストニア語のコーパスの構築を中心に作業を進めた。入力作業は、補助金で購入した資料を主な対象とし、大学院生に謝礼を支払って入力を依頼したほか、前年度の補助金で購入したイメージスキャナーおよびOCRソフトによる入力も行って作業の効率化を図った。ところで、コーパスを使って検索を行うときに、必要なデータの絞り込みを容易にするには、入力した言語資料をさらに加工し、各形態素にその機能を表すタグと呼ばれる標識をつける必要がある。とはいえ、すべての形態素にタグをつけるには膨大な時間がかかるため、当面は、必要最小限のタグにしぼって、入力した言語資料の更なる加工を進めることとした。一方、二年度にわたる作業の結果、小規模ながらも資料の集積がなったため、それを用いて、フィンランド語の所有接尾辞の分布に関する研究も行った。その結果、所有接尾辞の分布が分詞構文と時相構文で異なっており、その違いが両構文の統語的な性質の違いと関連していることが明らかになった。この成果は、別記の通り論文にまとめてある。本研究は、別途計画しているフィンランド語およびウラル語の統語論的研究の準備段階に当たるものである。時間や人手の制約から、ウラル語のうちの一部の言語のコーパスの構築にとどまったとはいえ、準備段階としての成果は十分にあげることができた。今後は、コーパスをさらに充実させていきながら、それを活用して、フィンランド語およびウラル諸語の統語論的研究を進めていきたい。
