This study aimed to develop nurses capable of making positive contributions in emergency situations, and was based on the formulation of a process of mutual support to motivate such professionals toward involvement in disaster nursing. To achieve this aim, an action research approach based on soft systems methodology (SSM) was used. Participants in the study expressed their thoughts on disaster nursing and related changes through workshops and practice, and planned/implemented related small projects. As a result, their awareness of fellow workers around them in disaster situations was heightened, enabling them to build relationships that would underpin a system of mutual support. In the aftermath of the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and the ensuing tsunami, the study participants acted on their own initiative, providing support and logistics assistance to devastated areas. Accordingly, the study was successful in contributing to the development of nurses capable of acting positively in emergency situations.

本研究旨在培养能够在紧急情况下做出积极贡献的护士，并制定了一个相互支持的过程，以激励这些专业人员参与灾难护理。为了实现这一目标，一个行动研究的软系统方法（SSM）的基础上使用。参与者通过研讨会和实践表达了他们对灾害护理和相关变化的想法，并计划/实施了相关的小型项目。因此，他们对灾害情况下周围同事的认识得到了提高，使他们能够建立起相互支持系统的基础关系。在2011年3月东日本大地震和随后的海啸之后，研究参与者主动采取行动，向受灾地区提供支持和后勤援助。因此，这项研究是成功的，有助于护士的发展，能够在紧急情况下采取积极行动。
