项目摘要

本研究は、近代日本における勤労青少年の教育・訓練機関である、青年訓練所、実業補習学校、青年学校について、当該時期における社会変動との関連に留意しつつ、その成立と展開、さらにその戦後的形態を跡付けることを目的としている。平成22年度の成果としてまずは、各種資料収集・整理を挙げたい。収集された資料は、大きくは、青年教育関連の地方雑誌、女子青年教育関連の書籍、及び長野県飯田市の地域史資料にわけることができる。青年教育関連地方雑誌は、特に東京・本郷の連隊区司令部が発行した雑誌が研究史上でも触れられていないものとして非常に有益と考えられる。女子青年教育関連書籍については、図書館及び一般古書店に流通しているものを複写・収集した。長野県飯田市の地域史料は、1920年代の当該地域において青年会が青年訓練所反対運動を行ったという経緯があり、これも重要なものである。特に青年教育関連の雑誌は、国内外の資料館・図書館にも納められておらず、散逸が著しいため、今回の収集・整理は今後の研究への大きな貢献と考える。また並行して、本研究と接続可能な社会学理論の検討も大きく進んだ。検討したものとしては、フランスの社会学者P・ブルデュー、英国の教育社会学者B・バーンスティン、ドイツの社会学者N・ルーマンなどである。なかでも後二者は、本研究において青年教育全体を鳥瞰する上で重要な示唆を与えるものであった。これについては、今後も継続して検討していく予定である。具体的な成果としては、これまでの研究成果を集約して研究論文等にまとめたほか、研究会等での発表も行った。その他、学会誌への投稿論文も現在準備中である。
