This research aims at exploring the actual condition of "social rehabilitation" from Hansen's disease sanatorium by life history of the person who left the Hansen's disease sanatorium("Shakai Fukkisha"). Former Hansen's disease researches focused on the person who lives in a Hansen's disease sanatorium in many cases. There is almost no research of a "Shakai Fukkisha". Based on such a point, this research can be said to be providing sociological Hansen's disease research with new suggestions. As a result of research, even if the person left from the Hansen's disease sanatorium and achieved "social rehabilitation", they cannot come out with their experience of Hansen's disease. In this point, this research also suggests the social practices that required from now on.

本研究旨在通过汉森病疗养院（“Shakai Fukkisha”）离开汉森病疗养院的人的生活史来探索汉森病疗养院“社会康复”的实际情况。以前的汉森氏病研究在很多情况下集中在住在汉森氏病疗养院的人身上。几乎没有关于“Shakai Fukkisha”的研究。基于这一点，本研究可以说是为社会学汉森病研究提供了新的建议。研究结果表明，即使离开麻风病疗养院的人实现了“社会康复”，他们也无法带着麻风病的经历走出来。在这一点上，本研究也提出了今后需要的社会实践。
