Research on Educational and Learning Environments Using Networked Robots

我们开发了一种网络机器人(称为现实世界中可以远程控制的化身机器人)来支持远程学习。这使得教师可以通过阿凡达机器人在远程使用的课程讲座中掌握学习者S的行为(例如举手或点头)。此外，我们还开发了一个系统，可以使用身体手势动作来操纵化身，而且多个学习者可以共享一个真实世界的化身。为了验证该系统的有效性，进行了实验。

We have developed a networked robot(called a real-world avatar robot that can be controlled remotely) to support distance learning. This allows the teacher to grasp the learner' s behaviors(for example, raising-hands or nodding) during the course lectures at the remote using through the avatar robot. In addition, we have developed a system that enables to manipulate the avatar using body gesture movements, and also multiple learners can share a single real-world avatar. Experiments were conducted to be confirmed the usefulness of the system.
