(1)資源配分ルールに関して、戦略的操作不可能性と効率性及び公平性とが両立不可能であることを示唆する多くの研究結果を受けて、Sasaki(2003)は次善的効率性という概念を提案した。本研究課題では、この概念をみたすルールとしてどのようなものが存在するのかを明らかにすることことを試みた。23年度には、論文"Second-best Efficiency of Allocation Rules:Strategy-proofness and Single-peaked Preferences with Multiple Commodities(with Hiroo Sasaki)"を海外の論文誌に投稿した。(2)Sprumont(1991)によって研究された個人の消費集合が1次元であり、各個人は単峰的選好を持つモデルは、戦略的操作不可能性と効率性及び公平性とが両立可能であるモデルとして知られている。また、このモデルにおいては、Thomson(1994)が明らかにしたところによると、公平、効率的かつ整合性をみたすルールはuniform ruleと呼ばれるルールのみであることが知られている。23年度には、財が分割不可能である場合に上記のような帰結が維持されるのか否かについて研究を行なった。得られた結果は、ルールfが戦略的操作不可能性、効率性及び公平性(ここでは弱意の非羨望性)をみたすならばfはtype-1 uniform ruleとよばれるルールであること、ルールfが整合性、効率性、公平性(ここでは弱意の均等配分下限性)及び資源に関する連続性をみたすならばfはtype-2 uniform ruleとよばれるルールであること、である。以上の結果を"On the problem of fair division of indivisible goods when preferences are single-peaked"と題する論文にまとめた。
