项目摘要

本年度は、ギリシア神話を題材とするオウィディウスの作品のうち、『名高き女たちの手紙』と『変身物語』の研究に取り組んだ。『名高き女たちの手紙』については、「手紙の書き手の「意図・態度・心理」」を解釈の軸とし、これまでの研究を総括した。具体的には、第4歌については「パイドラーの神々(ユッピテル、ウェヌス、ディアーナ)及び自らの祖先への意識」がどのように「ヒッポリュトスを説得する」という手紙の中で作用しているか、ということを、第9歌については、「デーイアネイラの「リフレイン」に至る意識」がどのようなものであるか、ということを、第12歌については、"flamma""Medea"といった手紙中のキーワードがメーデイアの恋心と復讐心をどのように反映しているか、ということを、第13歌については「像」も「霊」も意味する"imago"という言葉がラーオダメイアの「夫が無事生きて帰ってきて欲しい」という心理を反映するに際しどのように表現されているか、ということを分析し、博士学位論文の執筆を進めた。これらの研究の途中経過については、京都大学西洋古典研究会例会、大阪大学文学研究科共同研究会にて発表し、研究内容を精緻化させた。『変身物語』については、オウィディウスのadynatonという修辞技法を軸に解釈を進め、とりわけ第2巻におけるバットス石化のエピソードについて、無理のない形で導入された、バットスのadynatonを用いた誓言の台詞が、石化という罰の必然性を生じさせていることを指摘した。これについてはギリシア・ローマ神話学研究会第5回講演・研究発表会で口頭発表し、論文として大阪大学大学院文学研究科共同研究報告書に寄稿した。
