项目摘要

In my English classes at junior and senior high school, I regularly asked an assistant English teacher to conduct interview tests with the students. I also frequently encouraged my students to talk about their holiday experiences with their classmates in English. Every time after these activities, the students were asked to write in Japanese anything that they were unable to express in English. Then in association with a native speaker of English, I translated the Japanese expressions into English. I matched each Japanese expression with its English translation on an Excel spreadsheet. In my research I called this database the Japanese-English Parallel Corpus for Japanese Junior and Senior High School Students. Finally, I analyzed the reasons why Japanese learners could not express themselves in English from the viewpoint of vocabulary, grammar and Japanese complex structures.

在初中和高中的英语课上，我经常请一位英语助理老师对学生进行面试测试。我还经常鼓励我的学生用英语和他们的同学谈论他们的假期经历。每次活动结束后，学生们都被要求用日语写下他们不能用英语表达的任何东西。然后，我与一位以英语为母语的人合作，将日语表达翻译成了英语。我将每个日语表达与其在Excel电子表格上的英文翻译进行了匹配。在我的研究中，我将这个数据库称为日本初中和高中学生的日英平行语料库。最后，从词汇、语法和日语复杂结构的角度分析了日语学习者不能用英语表达自己的原因。
