検査や特別支援教育のエキスパートは,認知発達検査(含知能検査)の結果を教員や保護者にどのようにフィードバックしているかについて,8名のエキスパートに面接調査し,質的データの分析法によって分析した。その結果,興味深いことに,これら8名は共通の方法を重視していることが明らかになった。すなわち,(1)検査結果を支援に役立てようという意志が強く,実施や解釈について恒常的に研修を続けていること,(2)面談してフィードバックし,対話を重視すること,(3)検査の結果を伝えるだけでなく,その結果に適した支援法も合わせて伝えること,(4)検査者が語るよりもむしろ,すでに行われている支援を聴取し,その妥当性を伝えることを優先した方がよいこと,(5)相手の理解を重視しており,そのため専門用語の言い換えや,検査に対する相手の理解度への配慮を行っていること,(6)聞きもらしや重要点の忘却,誤った理解を防ぐため,少しでも所見の文書を添えること,などが共通していた。一方,検査結果の数字を伝えるかどうかについては,3つの立場があった。すなわち,要望がない限り伝えない立場,解説をつけて必ず伝える立場,相手によっていずれにするか変える立場であった。以上の結果をふまえて,フィードバックに関するガイドラインを作成した。このガイドラインの経緯は学会誌で発表する予定であるとともに,ガイドライン全体は書籍として出版したいと考えている。また,このガイドラインに基づいてまとめたレポートを,「K-ABCアセスメント研究」誌で発表した。さらに,このガイドラインに沿って大学院生への指導を行い,その有効性を確認した。
