Comprehensive study of child abuse prevention system: Safeguarding children from abuse

这项研究的最大特点是研究与虐待儿童有关的社会成本。这项研究在日本尚属首次。研究结果显示，2012年度与虐待儿童相关的损失约为1.6万亿日元，几乎相当于东日本大地震（包括福岛避难者的生活费用）造成的损失。许多国家推动了对虐待儿童的社会成本的研究，因为人们已经知道，从长远来看，增加对虐待儿童的预算可以避免代价高昂的损害。我们应该建立一个衡量虐待儿童长期影响的系统。

The foremost characteristic of this research was to study social costs associated with child abuse. This type of research was done for the first time in Japan.The research shows that the cost associated with child abuse for fiscal 2012 was about 1,6 trillion yen, and this was almost equal to the damage of the Great East Japan Earthquake (which included the cost of evacuee life from Fukushima). The research of social cost of child abuse has been promoted in many countries because it has become known that budgetary boost for child abuse can avoid costly damage in the long run. We should develop a measurement system for long-term influence of child abuse.
