The end of our study is to describe the Sakhalin modern history. As a first step to achieve this end, we have published the co-works book Russo-Japanese War and Sakhalin Island. It shows for the first time the history of Sakhalin Island from in the second half of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century: the realities of the war, the life of Russian, Japanese and the indigenous peoples before and after the war.In the course of the study, we organized international symposiums almost every year, so that we have made a strong connection between Japanese and foreign scholars on Sakhalin history. Moreover, we started building the basis of materials on the history for the scholars to share them easily. This project is in progress.

本文的最后是对萨哈林岛近代史的描述。作为实现这一目标的第一步，我们出版了合著书籍《日俄战争与库页岛》。第一次展示了19世纪后半叶至20世纪初的库页岛历史：战争的现实，战争前后俄罗斯人、日本人和原住民的生活。在研究过程中，我们几乎每年都组织国际研讨会，使日本和外国学者对库页岛历史的研究有了很强的联系。此外，我们开始建立历史资料的基础，以便学者们轻松分享。该项目正在进行中。
