Prior to conducting our investigation, we created workshops for making tree houses starting in 2005 on the university campus. Over the next 8 years, the students built tree houses and tree decks. An opinion survey was given to the student who participated as to their experience in building the tree houses and their thoughts on conservation, “Satoyama.”As a results of that survey, the following facts were revealed.1. The number of samples; 40, The number of the effective answers; 292. The students became more aware and more interested in environmental concerns and value of “Satoyama.”3. The students developed a critical mind set about conservation and “Satoyama.”
