A Comprehensive Study on Introduction of Information Technology(IT) to Student Counseling.

从本研究的结果可以清楚地看出，电子邮件咨询有可能满足学生在常规（面对面）学生咨询之外的另一种需求。将电子邮件咨询作为校园生活中困难学生的一种新的支持系统或渠道似乎是有可能的。另一方面，电子邮件咨询的局限性或弱点也变得清晰起来。电子邮件咨询存在许多困难，如仅根据客户的电子邮件难以对客户进行准确的评估，辅导员需要承担大量的工作量才能适当地回复客户的电子邮件，紧急干预困难，客户容易中断，中断后难以跟踪，难以向他们介绍常规（面对面）的学生咨询等。结果表明，被试阅读和写作能力的差异是导致邮件咨询效果差异较大的重要因素之一。

It became clear from the result of this study that there is some possibility that e-mail counseling can answer another need of the students from that for usual (face-to-face) student counseling. It seems that it will be possible to set e-mail counseling as a new support system or channel in campus life of the students who are in trouble. On the other hand, the limits or the weak points of e-mail counseling also became clear. There were many difficulties of e-mail counseling, such as difficulties of exact assessments on clients only on the basis of their e-mails, taking counselors a great amount of loads for replying their e-mails suitably, difficulties of urgent intervention, easy discontinuation by clients, difficulties of following them after discontinuation, difficulties of introducing them to usual (face-to-face) student counseling and so on. It was suggested that it was one of the most important factors which made big difference of effectiveness of e-mail counseling was difference in abilities to read and write texts among the clients.
