This research is to develop a global digital terrain model (DTM) and digital surface model (DSM) by using photogrammetry, topography, interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR), airborne LiDAR technologies. Since a project period is only three years, we focused on the three components including 1) development of an algorithm to differentiate between DSM and DTM from photogrammetry and InSAR measurements, 2) apply ALOS PALSAR data for vegetation monitoring which is the only one space bourne L band measurement, 3) prepare a global dataset available to public use. As a result, a bunch of dataset are ready to prepared including global DTM, building structure map, biomass map in forest and cropland. All of those dataset are expected to serve for a solution oriented scientific research including carbon cycle, atmospheric environment and urban study.

本研究利用摄影测量、地形学、干涉合成孔径雷达（InSAR）、机载激光雷达等技术，开发全球数字地形模型（DTM）和数字地表模型（DSM）。由于项目周期只有三年，我们将重点放在三个部分，包括：1)开发一种算法，以区分DSM和DTM与摄影测量和InSAR测量，2)应用ALOS PALSAR数据进行植被监测，这是唯一一个空间bourne L波段测量，3)准备一个可供公众使用的全球数据集。因此，可以编制包括全球DTM、建筑结构图、森林和农田生物量图在内的大量数据集。所有这些数据集都有望为包括碳循环、大气环境和城市研究在内的解决方案导向的科学研究服务。
