本年度は、昨年度に引き続き、中島広足周辺の国学者の資料を調査収集することに専念した。また、集めた資料をもとに今年度の研究課題として示した二つのテーマに取り組んだ。以下にその詳細を記す。まず一つ目のテーマである中島広足と幕末の国学者の交流の模様に関して。今年度研究業績の図書に示した『近世後期長崎和歌撰集集成』において、広足が中央の著名な人物と親交を深める際には肥前諏訪神社宮司青木永章、長崎会所請払役近藤光輔の両人を介していたことを明らかにした。そしてさらに、永章と光輔の文事を明らかにすることに主眼を置き、研究を進めた。結果、現時点までに永章の文事の実態を明らかにしつつある。同人が長崎文壇の中心人物の一人であったこと、また京都の綾小路家より雅楽の伝授を受け、その雅楽を長崎の地に広めていたこと、さらに江戸の歌人と長崎の歌人の交流の仲立ちをしていたことを明確にした。結果、永章は中央の文化を長崎の地に伝え、長崎の文化的興隆に多大な役割を果たした人物であることを明示し得たかと思う。次に二つ目のテーマである幕末国学者の歌作の実体に関して。歌語「神風」は地名の伊勢にかかる枕詞として上代より近世後期に至るまで詠まれてきた。一方、幕末の国学者の間においては、神に仇するものを滅ぼす意味に詠じられていたことも事実である。そこで、何故かく歌語「神風」が変容して和歌に詠まれるに至ったか、広足とその周辺の国学者の歌、ならびに歌学を検証した。結果、近世後期に折しも『蒙古襲来絵詞』が復元され、折柄の外圧の高まりを受けて外寇史の考証が盛んに行われる過程において、神風に護られた国とする神国史観が構築されたこと、また万葉集の柿本人麻呂詠の高市皇子の挽歌を証歌として、歌語「神風」を神に仇するものを滅ぼす意味ととる解釈が幕末の国学者の間において盛んになされていたこと、神風は神国の象徴であり、挙国一致を図る上で欠かせないイデオロギーとして和歌に詠まれていたことを明らかにした。なお、その成果は、すでに学会発表として公にしている。以上、本年度は上記の二点に関して、研究を進め、近日中に論文に取り纏める予定である.
