Regulation of extinction of emotional memory by amygdaloid neural circuits

利用囊泡型GABA转运体(VGAT)-Venus转基因小鼠，用Venus荧光蛋白标记GABA能神经元，对杏仁核内GABA能神经元进行了免疫组织化学研究。结果在杏仁中央核内观察到生长抑素(SST)和血管活性肠肽(VIP)的神经末梢样信号。这些结果表明，SST和VIP在调节恐惧记忆消退中具有独特的作用。

Using vesicular GABA transporter (VGAT)-Venus transgenic mice, in which GABAergic neurons are labeled with the Venus fluorescent protein, the immunohistochemical characterization of GABAergic neurons in the amygdala was performed. As a result, nerve terminal-like signals of somatostatin (SST) and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) in the central nucleus of the amygdala were observed. These results suggest that SST and VIP have unique roles in regulation of extinction of fear memory.
