Advancement of English Teaching by Utilizing and Evaluating a Comprehensive CALL System

本研究的目的是分析我们在三步听理解理论基础上开发的CALL系统在提高日本英语教学水平方面的效果。在过去的十年里，为了获得一万多名学习者的反馈，我们进行了一次持续的学生评价调查。我们还主持并参加了CALL研究人员的学术会议，讨论如何更好地使用CALL系统。结果显示，85%的学习者做出了积极的回应。然而，我们也发现结果会受到许多因素的影响，包括学习时间的长短和材料的选择。

The purpose of the present study was to analyze the effects of the CALL System we have developed on the theory of Three-Step Auditory Comprehension Approach, with the scope of improving English teaching in Japan. In order to obtain feedback from over ten thousand learners over the past ten years, a continuous student evaluation survey was administered. We also have hosted and participated in academic meetings for CALL researchers to discuss better uses of the CALL System. The results revealed that 85 per cent of the learners responded positively. However, we have also found that the results can be affected by a number of factors including the number of hours spent in learning and the selection of materials.
