A study on code-switching by people of Japanese descent living in Hawaii

我基于在美国夏威夷希洛市收集的日裔人口的言语数据，分析了代码转换是如何使用的。分代数据分析揭示了第二代和第三代的方言特点：他们频繁使用连词和反应词等虚词的外来词。此外，我还分析了“日本人与日本人之间的对话”和“日本人与日本人之间的对话”之间的区别。结果表明，日语/英语语码转换在“日裔对话”中发生的频率更高，夏威夷克里奥尔英语的使用频率也更高。

I analyzed how code-switching was used based on the verbal data of people of Japanese descent collected in the city of Hilo, Hawaii, USA. Data analysis by generation revealed a dialectal characteristic in the second and third generations: they used loanwords of function words such as conjunctions and response words on a frequent basis. Additionally, I analyzed the differences between "conversations between those of Japanese descent and the Japanese" and "conversations among those of Japanese descent." The results revealed that Japanese/English code-switching occurred more frequently in "conversations　among those of Japanese descent" and that Hawaiian Creole English was used more commonly.
