A diachronic study of political languages

本研究以语言作为政治说服的核心力量为出发点，从历时的角度考察了语言与政治领导的关系。更具体地说，以下问题得到了解决：日本领导人使用了什么修辞策略来向全国讲话？领导层所展示的（或未能展示的）语言的说服力有多有效？在分析领导语言时，和谐谈话和报告谈话的理论结构被证明是有用的工具。

In the spirit of language as the central force in political persuasion, this study has examined the relationship between language and political leadership diachronically. More specifically, the following questions were addressed: What rhetorical strategies did the Japanese leadership use to speak to the nation? How effective was the persuasive power of the language the leadership demonstrated (or failed to demonstrate)? In analyzing the language of leadership, the theoretical constructs of rapport talk and report talk were proven to be useful tools.
