The purpose of this study is to develop an automated speech scoring system for learners of English, applying the speech recognition technology that recently used on personal computers and smart phone. The system automatically scores learners' speech elicited by Discourse Completion Task where learners are required to speak in a situation. The degree of accuracy of speech recognition depends heavily on a situation and contents of speaking. In the tasks with the high degree of accuracy of recognition, the system produces reliable scores, which means that the system edges closer to practical use.

本研究的目的是应用最近在个人电脑和智能手机上使用的语音识别技术，为英语学习者开发一个自动语音评分系统。语篇补全任务要求学习者在某一情景下说话，系统会自动对学习者的言语进行评分。语音识别的准确度在很大程度上取决于说话的情况和内容。在识别准确率高的任务中，系统产生了可靠的分数，这意味着系统更接近实际使用。
