平成24年度は研究実施計画に予定する諸課題を中心に研究を推進し、本課題に関係する中・日文献を調査し、とくに新発見史料を整理・分析し、幕末の長崎唐通事の組織構成・語学習得・対外関係業務処理、明治期における旧唐通事の実務担当、個人的活動を具体的に考察し、史実を明らかにした。旧唐通事および通事家子弟の経歴、歴史事件での活躍を個別に解明するうえで、その変容にみる共通性と多様性を分析し、幕末明治期の旧唐通事を「集団」として検討した。研究成果の一部として、2012年5月に学位論文「幕末明治における長崎唐通事の史的研究」を関西大学に提出し、2回の口頭発表を行った。発表は以下のとおりである。1.東京大学近世史研究会12月例会で「幕末における長崎唐通事の機能」と題して口頭発表を行い、報告では安政～慶応年間の長崎唐通事の組織構成、語学習得、実務担当について近世・近代移行期における唐通事職能集団の存在形態と変容の一端を述べた。討論では、「通事」・「通詞」の使い分け、未刊資料「唐通事卯年勤方書」の性格とその内容の解釈、唐通事に対する評価といった問題点にについて質疑応答・議論が行われていた。2.関西大学2012年度東洋史大会にて「幕末明治における長崎唐通事の史的研究」と題して研究報告を行った。長崎唐通事研究の視野、現状と問題点を紹介し、19世紀40年代以降長崎唐通事の組織、職務、活動、語学習得にみる変化、近世唐通事制度の終結、明治期における旧唐通事の登用およびその子弟の活躍などについて検討を加え、「場」・「人」・「言葉」の三点から幕末明治期唐通事の存在形態を考察したものである。討論では、長崎唐通事研究の推進方向、唐通事とオランダ通詞との比較研究の可能性について議論が行われていた。

Research and implementation plan for 2007 - 2008; central research; research on the relationship between this project and Japanese literature; collation and analysis of new historical data; organizational structure of Nagasaki Communications; language learning; external relations; management of old communications; and detailed investigation of personal activities during Meiji period. The history and events of the old Tang Dynasty were analyzed individually, and the commonality and diversity of the old Tang Dynasty were analyzed. One part of the research results was presented at Kansai University in May 2012. Thesis "A Study of the History of the Tang Dynasty in Nagasaki" was presented at Kansai University in May 2012. The following is a list of events. 1. The December Meeting of the Institute of Modern History of the University of Tokyo "The End of the Period and the Functions of the Nagasaki Tang General Office" was held. The topic was oral presentation, presentation, organization, language learning, and practical responsibilities of the Nagasaki Tang General Office during the period from Ansei to Keisei. Kansai University 2012 Ichikō History Conference "A Study of the History of the Tang Dynasty" This paper introduces the vision, current situation and problems of the study of Nagasaki Tang Tongshi, the evolution of the organization, duties, activities and language learning of Nagasaki Tang Tongshi since the 1840s, the end of the modern Tang Tongshi system, the active participation of the children of the old Tang Tongshi at the end of Meiji period, the three points of "field","person" and "speech leaf" at the end of Meiji period, and the investigation of the existence of Tang Tongshi. Discussion on the research direction of Tang Tongshi and Nagasaki, the possibility of comparative study of Tang Tongshi and Nagasaki Tongshi
