项目摘要

平成25年度は、2013年9月～10月に南スーダン共和国・ジュバに渡航し、現地調査を遂行した。この調査では、引き続きジュバ・アラビア語の文法調査・ドキュメンテーションを行った。まず、現地調査に際しては、ジュバ・マラキア地区に古くから在住する都市民を対象に加えたことで、これまでに得られていなかった古風な特徴を残すジュバ・アラビア語変種を発見するに至った。また、彼らの語りに注目することで、ジュバが建設され、南スーダンの首都へと発展していく社会史的背景の一部が明らかにし、論文としてまとめた。次に、研究発表に関しては、現地のジュバ大学において研究発表を行い、上で述べた現地調査の成果の一部を速やかに公表することで、研究者らと意見交換を行った。また、昨年度までに収集した文献資料や、本年度の現地調査をもとに、国際アラビア語方言学会(Association Internationale de Dialectologie Arabe)にて、ヨーロッパ人植民地行政官らの言語行為がジュバ・アラビア語の発生に影響を与えた可能性について発表し、反響を得た。さらに、本年度までに行ってきたドキュメンテーションの結果得られたデータをもとに、民話などの「語りの談話」に頻出する継起等を表す言語形式と、その文法化の過程を論文にまとめた。以上に加え、昨年度までの研究成果をもとに、ジュバ・アラビア語中層話体(Mesolect)の文法体系について発表した。また、ジュバ・アラビア語を含むアフリカで話されるピジン・クレオール諸語に関して、日本アフリカ学会編『アフリカ学事典』(近刊)に記事を執筆した。
