本研究は、途上国農村で導入が進められているインデックス保険の副作用をリスクシェアリング理論の予測に墓づき検証するというものだった。インデヅクス保険とは、雨量などの公的に観察可能な指数に基づいて保険の支払いを行うもので、経済学的に好ましい性質を持っている(モラルハザードの軽減)のだが、インデックス保険への加入がインフォーマルな保険として機能していたリスクシェアリングへの参加インセンティブを低下させることにより、インデックス保険非加入者(主に貧困層)の厚生を低下させる可能性がある。今年度の成果としては夏までの短い期間でのものとなり具体的な成果として形になってはいないが、当該分野における経済理論(特にリスクシェアリングモデル、またネットワーク形成モデル)・計量経済学理論の文献調査と、そこから生まれたリスクシェアリングネットワークの形成要因の観点から見た結婚市場の実証という新たなリサーチクエッションの浮上・また推定に必要な計算技術の向上が挙げられる。リスクシェアリング理論の文献としてはGenkot and Ray(2003)、誘導系での実証としてはFafchamps and Gubert(2007)、結婚市場についてはRosenzweig and Stark(1989)やBanerjee et al,(2010)、計量経済学文献としてはAguirregabiria and Mira,(2002)やHotz and Miller(1993)、Su and Judd(2008)、結婚市場についての構造推定に関してはHusch et al.(2010)、Banerjee et al.(2010),Fox(2011)などを参照した.また推定の計算技術に関しては、莫大な計算量が必要であるこの分野で標準的である並列計算の方法などを習得した。例えば、ブートストラップなどを用いて計算する場合には並列計算は大変有用である
