Photoalignment of Nanostructured Liquid-Crystalline System for Emitting Devices

本研究探讨不同萤光染料掺杂液晶系统之光致重定向行为，以发展光致精确分子排列之π电子系统。在这些荧光染料中，一些具有长分子长度的香豆素衍生物被发现可以作为液晶体系光诱导重取向的触发剂。此外，在光照射过程中，香豆素类化合物的液晶取向稳定性高于传统的寡聚噻吩衍生物。

In this study, photoinduced reorientation behavior of liquid-crystalline systems doped with various fluorescent dyes were explored to develop pi-electron system with precise molecular alignment by light. Among the fluorescent dyes, some coumarin derivatives with long molecular length were found to act as a trigger for the photoinduced reorientation of LC system. Moreover, stability of LC alignment with coumarins during photo irradiation is higher than that with conventional oligothiophene derivatives.
