项目摘要

本研究は、唐に至る中国側の仏教文化と古代日本との接触について調査研究するものである。とくに、唐（中国）と日本の間における単なる伝播・受容・外交史観の克服を課題とし、両者間の差異、矛盾、抵抗、ねじれ、などの関係性を確認した上で、共生の可能性を追究することを目標にした。当該年度は、以下のような研究をおこなった。第一に、代表者新川登亀男と分担者GE,Jiyong（葛継勇）は、鑑真の弟子法進が日本で著した『沙弥十戒並威儀経疏』の写本比校、伝来研究を継続した。この撰著は、日中の文化・習俗の差異を意識しながら、中国の戒律仏教を日本に流布させようとしたものである。追って成果を公表したい。第二に、新川登亀男は、譬喩経の流布や、アジア大陸北方の習俗などが法隆寺金堂釈迦三尊像光背銘文に色濃く反映していることを立証した。同時にまた、その継承が途絶することにも注目した。第三に、新川は、600年の倭入隋使記録を手掛かりにして、アジアのなかの倭王像構築と仏教文化の役割を考究した。第四に、新川は、日本仏教の初期的背景をなす中国南朝とアジア南方・北方国家・民族との交流を明らかにした。第五に、新川は、13世紀日本の聖徳太子信仰の撰著『古今目録抄』（献納物）の共同調査をおこない、日本の聖徳太子信仰の受容のされた方を実証的に確認した。第六に、新川は、国立歴史民俗博物館の「文字がつなぐ　古代の日本列島と朝鮮半島」の企画展示委員をつとめた。ついで第七に、葛継勇は、中国太原の天龍山・龍山石窟共同調査を踏まえ、中国北朝と仏教信仰の関係を考察した。この地域は、やがて隋唐が興る源泉となり、朝鮮半島・日本列島へと通じる経由点でもあった。今後の比較研究に道をひらいた。第八に、葛継勇は、白居易と楊氏兄弟との親交解明を通じて、中国文人、日本の遣唐僧、日本の文人貴族らの仏教信仰に多面的な要素があることを確認した。
