项目摘要

本年度は、インドネシアの９・３０事件を契機に各地で発生した虐殺事件の実像とその影響についての事例研究を、アジアの他地域における虐殺とその後と比較することで、歴史的和解と移行期正義という主題への考察を深めました。その際とくに台湾とベトナムに着目しました。台湾では２・２８事件によって２万人以上の本省人が虐殺され、その後に敷かれた戒厳令によって「共産主義者」とみなされた人々は、監視・弾圧され、地域社会では厳しい住民管理が行われました。文献調査や台湾研究者への照会を通じて、それらの詳細とインドネシアの事例を比較してみると、国家権力の統治構造と冷戦という時代状況が及ぼした影響には、多くの共通性を見出せることがわかりました。一方、共産主義勢力が最終的な勝利を収めたベトナムでは、第二次インドネシア独立戦争（ベトナム戦争）の際に、韓国軍による民衆への虐殺が行われました。その様相は、台湾やインドネシアの事例とは大きく異なるものの、いまだに歴史的和解がなされていないという一点において共通しており、ベトナム政府、韓国政府という国家が負の歴史に向き合わないなかで、過去にいかに向き合うことができるのかという問題を見出しました。その結果、９・３０研究を狭い意味でのジェノサイド研究の枠組みのなかに閉じ込めてしまうのではなく、２０世紀という長い時間軸のなかで、帝国主義国家によって支配されてきた人々が脱植民地化を果たす過程のなかで生じたさまざまな矛盾が込められたものとして捉えることで、そこに脱帝国主義、脱植民地主義が抱える可能性と限界を考察するという方向で研究を進めていきました。当初の課題であった精緻な理論化をするまでには至りませんでしたが、この数年間取り組んできた実証研究が、いかなる社会的な研究意義をもっていたのかということについては、明らかにすることができたのではないかと考えています。
