本年度は16世紀のニザーミー詩編を同時代背景との対照から分析し、実際の建築物にみられる銘文が挿絵に取り入れられていることを確認できた。それまでも画中に文字装飾が施されていることはあったが、同じ写本中の詩句の引用や、定型句として受け継がれている文言の転用である場合が多い。挿絵の制作は定型図の継承で成り立っているため、画中の銘文の実在を確認できたところで、挿絵の構想に制作当時の背景が反映されているとはいえないが、挿絵に現実界との接点がある可能性は示唆されている。しかし、比較した作例数が少なく、類似の事例を多く収集できなかったことや、制作年代への検討が不十分である等といった問題点があり、論文として採択されるに至らなかった。それらの問題を踏まえて、16世紀とされる挿絵の制作年代を再検討するにあたり、さらに15世紀と17世紀の作例も含めて検証した。16世紀後半以降と鑑定される挿絵は絵画様式間の交流と後世の補修に富んでいる。それ以前に遡ると、下絵と着彩の時期が離れ、別地域の絵画様式が混在し、修復が重ねられている様相は、15世紀前半のニザーミー詩編を含む詩集（チェスター・ビーティー図書館所蔵、Per. 124）にも確認できた。両作例にみられる補修部分には、金泥や白が厚く塗られている等の共通点がある。同様に多くの類例を比較していくことで補修の傾向が明らかとなり、国内に所蔵のあるペルシア写本絵画の制作年代を検討する際の手がかりとなるように思う。
