项目摘要

本年度の研究の目的は、排外主義運動が昨今台頭していることの要因をジェンダーの観点から考察することであった。この研究は、これまでの研究と異なる対象を扱うことで保守運動の女性参加者の多様性・複層性を示すことを意図していた。しかし、研究対象を拡大する前にこれまでの研究のさらなる深化を図るべく、本年度は当初の研究目的を変更し、保守運動において「家族の価値」という言論がいつ頃から、どのようにして語られるようになったのかを明らかにするための研究を行った。昨今の保守運動では、「家族の価値」を重視する主張が数多くみられる。少子高齢化や離婚率・未婚率の上昇、あるいは家族形態の変化などの社会的状況をうけて、「あるべき家族の姿」を描く「家族の価値」言論は広く人々に訴える力を持っている。しかし、先行研究によれば、このときの「家族」とは性別役割分業をする夫婦と子どもから構成される家族が想定されているという。このような家族形態は日本では高度経済成長期に一般的にみられるようになったものである。保守運動は「家族の価値」を以前から主張してきたと一般的に考えられているが、このような家族形態の変化を受けて、その言動も変化してきたと考えられる。本年度の研究では、日本遺族会を対象とし、日本遺族会の会報『日本遺族通信』にみられる家族に関する言論の変化を分析した。1949年から2009年までに掲載された記事のうち、家族に言及した記事約900件を抽出した。国内の保守運動研究は緒についたばかりである。とくに「家族の価値」は、性別役割を肯定するものとしてフェミニズムからこれまでも批判されてきたが、その言論の構造や変遷についての実証研究は数少ない。本年度の研究は、国内の今後の保守運動研究にとって重要な知見を提示するものと考えられる。
