项目摘要

平成２６年度は、南宋末期の公田法に関する研究論文を『歴史学研究』の誌上に掲載させ、その研究を一区切りさせるとともに、新たな研究テーマとして南宋末期における四明（現在の浙江省寧波市）史氏の没落過程の解明に着手した。四明史氏は南宋後期に３人の宰相・執政を輩出するなど、当時の中央政治を掌握し続けた一族であったが、南宋理宗時代に宰相史嵩之が失脚したあとは政治的な地位を喪失した。従来の研究は史氏没落の原因を、政治的な立ち位置をめぐる史氏一族の内輪もめに求めてきたのであった。しかし史氏の没落によって、四明出身の官僚たちが南宋中央から駆逐されたとされてきたことを考えると、史氏没落の様相を明らかにすることは、つづく元朝・明朝における四明知識人の活動実態を明らかにするための前提条件であるといえよう。以上の問題関心のもと、当時の史料を検討してみたところ、史氏の没落の原因は一族内の内輪もめではなく、史嵩之の政治的資産を引き継げる適当な人物が存在していなかったことにあることが明らかになった。しかしそうした状況は、皇帝理宗の政治運営に深刻な影響をもたらした。皇帝理宗は、それまで史氏の出身者が築いてきた国防体制に依拠してモンゴルとの戦争を切り抜けてきたからである。これを正常に機能させるためには、史氏が有した人的結合関係に重なる人脈を持つ者を宰相に据えなければならない。こうした事情のなかで、史氏の継承者として登場したのが賈似道であったと考えられる。賈似道の義母は四明史氏の女子であり、まさに史氏の人的結合の延長線上に位置する人物だったのである。このように見てくると、南宋最末期にも四明出身者の人脈が大いに活躍していたことが明らかとなる。これらの研究成果については、早期に研究論文としてまとめて発表する予定である。
