项目摘要

本研究の目的は、《方言における動詞の音便現を記述するとともに、地域間の比較と中央語史上の傾向との対比を行うことで、地理的・歴史的にこの現象に関する方言の展開を明らかにしていく》ことである。この目的に沿って、当該年度では以下のような研究の成果を残した。1. 動詞音便現象の地理的・歴史的展開の解明『方言文法全国地図』をもとに方言間の比較を行い、それらの違いを整理するとともに、通時的な変遷を推定し、この現象の地理的・歴史的展開を明らかにした。この結果は論文として発表し報告した(「動詞の音便の地理的・歴史的分布」『国語学研究』53)。結果、地理的分布と歴史的分布は対応していることが分かった。この対応や、西日本に見られる音便形の周圏分布を見ると、その形成は伝播によるものと考えられる。2. 音便に関する全国各地の記述の収集1は現在の方言を反映している地図と中央語文献を対照させたものだが、中央語文献には登場しない、または地図にも反映されていない記述は存在する。そのような音便に関する記述を集めるため、日本全国の方言関連資料が多く収められている国立国語研究所図書室に何度か赴き、方言関連の資料に全て目を通し、音便に関する記述を集めた。3. 高知県におけるサ行イ音便の実地調査高知県東部へ赴き、主にサ行イ音便に関する調査を行った。結果、全ての地点で、サ行五段動詞は全てイ音便化することが分かった。動詞によっては、例えば「出す」であれば「ダイタ」のイ音便形と「ダシタ」の非音便形の中間的な形である「ダヒタ」も聞かれた。まだ分析の途中であるが、中央語や富山県などに見られる、イ音便にならない例外語が全く現れなかったことから、音便形は中央から伝播してきたものであるが、中央語に存在した例外語は保持せず、イ音便化を全ての動詞に適用するという、高知県独自の規則が働いていることが明らかになった。
