I have conducted the following two analyses on the historical fertility transition. First, I have developed a two-sector overlapping-generations model with gender heterogeneity. In contrast to existing models in the literature, the model is tractable in incorporating various shocks and assessing the effects of them. Second, I have developed a growth model explaining both micro evidence and macro evidence on the long-run fertility behavior. The simulated model replicates the fact that(i) the average fertility rate exhibits hump-shaped dynamics and(ii) there was a positive association between income and fertility across households in the pre-industrial era, whereas a clear association does not exist, positive or negative, in the modernera.

我对历史生育率转变进行了以下两个分析。首先，我建立了一个具有性别异质性的两部门代际模型。与文献中的现有模型相比，该模型在纳入各种冲击和评估其影响方面是易于处理的。其次，我建立了一个增长模型，解释了长期生育行为的微观证据和宏观证据。模拟模型复制了这样一个事实，即（i）平均生育率呈现驼峰形动态，（ii）在工业化前时代，各家庭的收入和生育率之间存在正相关，而在现代a中，不存在明确的正或负相关。
