本研究は、現職教員及び教員志望者(主として国語)のレトリック的思考力を速成するための方法を開発し、それに基づくカリキュラムや教材を作成することを目的としている。24年度は、理論面と実践面の両面において研究計画を立てていた。理論面においては、非形式論理学のAffirmative Approach(肯定的方法)とNegative Approach(否定的方法)の理論的統合を図るべく、論証の最小単位である「論証子」の観点から様々な論証形式を抽出することを目的としていた。Affirmative Approachの論証形式の一例として小学校国語教科書の説明文的文章教材を取り上げ、批判的に論証構造を分析することによって、教材レベルで提示される論証パターンを指摘した。実践面においては、Negative Approachとしての論証形式の具体的用例について検討した。具体的には、日常生活においてよく見られる「虚偽」について用例を挙げ、特に小中学生が理解可能なレベルの用例に絞り込んだ。そしてなぜそれらが「虚偽」とされるのかを論理的に説明できるような教材(ワークシート)案を構想した。25年度は研究代表者の体調不良のため、研究活動を行うことができなかった(平成25年4月28日研究代表者死亡)
