A Comparative Study on Characteristic of Intergenerational Support and Conjugal Relationship between Children's generation in Japan and Korea

本研究旨在分析日韩两国对儿童一代的代际支持与认同。数据来源于东亚社会调查(EASS_2006)。这些回答来自已婚人士，他们分别有一位父母，至少是自己的父母和配偶父母。还有，我是为30岁的S已婚女性面试的。研究结果如下。首先，在经济支持水平较低的情况下，日本男性的婚姻满意度最高。此外，韩国男性的婚姻满意度与他们对父母的经济支持水平成正比。第二，妻子不想赡养妻子一方，而不是丈夫一方的父母。没有关于代际支持的冲突。通过接受她丈夫的需求，她的需求也将被接受。我认为这是妻子们的策略。

This study was to analyzed intergenerational support and recognition of children's generation in Japan and Korea. The data was obtained from EASS_2006 (East Asia Social Survey). The responses were gathered from married people and they have one parent at least their own parent and spouse parent respectively. Also, I was interviewing for the 30's married women. The results of the study are as follows. First, when the levels of financial support to husband parent are low, marital satisfaction of the Japanese men are biggest among others. Additionally, Korean men's marital satisfaction is parallel to their financial support level for their own parents. Second, the wives did not want to support the wife side than husband side parent. There was no conflict surrounding intergenerational support. By accepting the needs of her husband, her needs will be accepted. I think this is the strategy of the wives.
