歴史博物館の常設展示には、建物や町並みを実物大で再現し、その中に生活道具などの実物資料を配して当時の暮らしを再現する「情景再現展示」が増えている。本研究の目的は、歴史博物館の常設展示にみられる「情景再現展示」の建築学的特色を把握し、住教育への活用方法を探ることである。具体的には、１）公立歴史博物館の常設展示における「情景再現展示」の実態把握、２）「情景再現展示」の建築学的特色の把握とその発展プロセスの分析、３）「情景再現展示」を活用した学習支援の把握と住教育への応用を行う。今年度の取組みは以下の通りである。１）2000年以降に開館または常設展示を大規模にリニューアルした公立歴史博物館の常設展示内容を現地調査または文献によって収集した。リニューアルの経緯が知事部局への移管による事例があり、これらの館には「情景再現展示」が導入されていなかった。一方、導入館は教育委員会が管轄し、体験型の展示を取り入れる館であった。このように、管轄の相違が導入の有無に関連していることが把握できた。２）これまでの研究で蓄積したデータを活用して「情景再現展示」における建築物の特色を分析した。分析では、「情景再現展示」における建築物の特色を類型化し、住居系の建築物が中心であること、その再現規模は住居の一部がそれぞれ中心であった。加えて、その発展過程をみると、住居系建築物は初期には農家が中心であったが、その後は町家、近代の住居を中心とするものへと変容していたことが明らかになった。３）江戸時代の大坂の町並みを実物大で再現する大阪市立住まいのミュージアムで、「情景再現展示」を活用した学習プログラムを企画・実施した。内容は、暮らしや建物のつくりなどについて学習した知識を、展示ガイド役となって来館者に直接解説しながら理解を深めるもので、プログラムの対象は小学生（中・高学年）向け、中学生向けにそれぞれ企画した。
