项目摘要

本年度は、これまで実施してきた家族会（介護家族の自助グループ）での参与観察を発展させるとともに、新たな調査を開始した。具体的には、1970年代から90年代の介護経験についての、介護家族へのインタビュー調査及び、家族会での文書資料の調査である。まず家族会での参与観察について。本年度は、調査対象を3団体に絞り、特に家族が認知症に気づくプロセスに注目して、調査を行った。家族による認知症への気づきは、「早期発見」を促す観点からも重要視されているが、今なお十分な研究蓄積がされていない。そこで本年度は、国際社会学会大会で報告を行い、国際的にも知見の共有を図った。また、一連の調査成果は、専門職向けのテキスト（業績欄参照）にも採用されるなど、実践的にも評価を受けている。次に、新たな調査の展開について。本年度は、1970年代から90年代の介護経験に注目し、当時の介護経験者らに調査を行った。まず、1980年に結成された家族会Aに協力を依頼し、同会結成以降蓄積された36年分の資料を、事務所倉庫にて閲覧、ないし貸し出しを受けて、分析した。さらに、1960年代末から70年代にかけて介護を経験した女性（家族会B元会長）、家族会Aに1980年の結成当時から関わる関係者（複数）、90年代に介護を経験した女性（家族会C元副会長）に、それぞれ回顧的なインタビューを実施した。1970年代から90年代は、認知症介護が社会問題化し、ケアのあり方を巡って様々な議論が展開される、いわば認知症ケアの転換期であった。しかし、この転換期の介護家族の経験について、社会学的な分析に耐えうるデータの収集は、先行研究において不十分であった。この新たな調査については、今後さらに発展させる計画である。こうした転換期の介護実践を分析することで、それがどのように現在の認知症ケアをもたらしたのか、より包括的な議論を展開したいと考えている。
